Friauf, Duane A. “Dewey” Age 64, of Mpls, passed away on March 29, 2021 peacefully from complications of Muscular Dystrophy. He fought the challenges he faced with courage & determination. Preceded in death by mother, Elaine; siblings, Doug and Diane. Survived by father, Roger; sisters, Donna (Mike) Bushway, Darla (Jim) Mariette; brother-in-law, Jerry Adam; companion & dear friend of 40 years, Beth Kruta; aunts, Mildred Friauf, Shirley Karsten, Monie Karsten, Rosalie Karsten; nephew, Brian (Janet) Adam; nieces, Brenda (Dan Ristrom) Adam, Kelley (Shawn) Ballanger, Piper Bushway, Sarah Mariette; great nephew, Evan Adam; cousins, Bobby (Tricia) Karsten, Linda Karsten, Ray Karsten, Jeff Karsten, Mark Karsten, Meagan (Trevor) Abel, Kris ( Iggy) Karsten; other relatives & friends. Duane was a graduate from the University of MN Duluth. He became a VISTA Volunteer in Omaha, then with United Handicapped Federation working as a community organizer. He was a computer programmer for the USPS. Duane was a big fan of the MN Twins & Vikings. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune. Duane was a wonderful son, brother, friend, uncle & cousin. He loved spending time with family especially at supportive research walks & gatherings. Duane had a wonderful sense of humor, a kind soul, & he was patient, thoughtful, & insightful. He is now forever surrounded with the comfort, joy and love he so deserves for eternity. Duane will be greatly missed. Memorial service 10am Friday, April 16th at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Rd, St. Louis Park, MN 55426.
