Eulogy

I’m Dale…one of Steve’s two brothers, along with Mike.

Talking about Steve is easy to do.

Steve was a unique guy – one in a million or two million.

As I mentioned to Laura & Joanne, he truly was a drummer who marched to his own drummer.

There is a story that when John Lennon of the Beatles was in grade school, his teacher asked the class to say what they wanted to be when they grew up. Most kids said astronauts, firemen, doctors, teachers, etc. John Lennon said he wanted to be happy when he grew up. The teacher said “John, you don’t understand the question” and John said, “Teacher you don’t understand life”.

This story has always reminded me of my brother Steve.

Steve never wanted to just follow along in society doing all the things that society demanded. Rather I think that Steve wanted to live life his way and simply be happy.

Steve was a great drummer who loved music, playing music, and listening to music!

Steve loved his friends and family and certainly amassed many friends.

Most of all he loved his wife, Laura. I believe Laura meant everything in the world to Steve.

Steve was there for me when Lou Lou and I said goodbye to our son dan 7 years ago.

And now our mom Maureen is saying goodbye to her oldest son.

I know mike and I will miss Steve as our older brother.

Steve, we love you and miss you already!

Amen v’amen!
