Burns, LaVern “Vern” A. age 87, 05/31/28-11/14/15, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s in Becker, MN. Born in Menomonie, WI, also lived in St. Louis Park & New Hope, MN. A devoted husband & father of 5, he is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marlys, children, Sue (Gary) Christian of Hudson, WI, Linda (Bryan Tunglund) Christianson of Becker, Bruce (Shelly) Burns of Annandale & Karen (Mike) Benson of Maple Grove. Son Steve served as an MP in US Army & perished in Vietnam May ’71. A Stout grad, Vern passionately taught Ind. Arts & Driver’s Ed for over 30 yrs., the majority @ St. Louis Park. He also enjoyed working @ Woodworker’s Store in Rogers upon retirement. This God-honoring, gifted man is survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial service 2:00 PM Sun., Dec. 27 @ Grace Lutheran Church, Becker, MN. Visitation 1:00 PM. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer’s Assoc.
